The chill is in the air

Quite windy and chilly today on the Emerald Necklace. Here's a nice little tree between the 9th and 10th. This is what autumn in New England is all about!

Of course...more course!

It was very nice to have short sleeves on during the round today. Here's a quick panorama from the 4th tee.

Starts SW across the 5th & 6th...then west and NW, down the 3rd green...finishing across the 1st and down the 4th. Enjoy!

(I like how the light changes so drastically for this silly phone)

(This one shows the weather we got later on...and I'm a suckah for clouds!)

More fall golf, tomorrow!

October in full "swing"

Report from the lovely Franklin Park GC. Summer has slipped blissfully into the Autumn...the trees enjoyed some needed rain and here are a few quick pictures. (I'm including a week ago picture with the newest one)
Last week
This week
And more from this afternoon!
Looking up the 7th (handicap 1), and on the left is the 8th
Across the 11th tee...across the 6th & 5th fairways towards the zoo...hear the lions?
Up the 11th fairway with the 14th fairway on the left. Follow the treeline...aim at that big yellow maple!
From the edge of the 15th green. The trees are starting to show!

Autumn in New England

Here's a sampling of the beginning of the changing leaves we love here in New England.

These of course are from the Olmstead park system...layouts and golf course design by Donald Ross and maintained expertly by Russell Heller.

Enjoy with my comments and compliments!

From Saturday on the 15th green looking NW
Saturday as well, looking north from the 15th green. That treeline is ready to start changing!
Looking at the second green. Sunday and what a day...clear skies make the Emrald necklace really shine!
The heather is gone and the trees are certainly going. The background will be more interesting in a few weeks.
Looking from the seventh tee down the 18th tee box/fairway. Again the trees around Franklin Park are gonna 'splode!
Looking down the 10th fairway...watchou for that rock! And, back up the 9th fairway.

That's it for now but I'm hoping for more fall ball (golf)!
